Summer Science Program July 9 - 13, 2012 Students 9 - 12

BECOME A WATSON HOMESTEAD YOUNG NATURALIST (Ages 9-10)
Explore ecosystems, catching amphibians and fish in a creek and vernal pool.  Track animal prints and identify factors that help living critters survive in their habitat. Design a plant desert terrarium to care for at home.  Create a field notebook with sketches or digital photos of your organisms and become a Watson Homestead Young Naturalist.
Mon – Fri, 9:00am – 12:00pm daily, $100 per student   Max: 15 students

FRESH WATER AQUATIC BIOLOGY (Ages 11-12)
Use nets and test kits to explore a creek and pond, and find out how to tell if a freshwater habitat is healthy.   Create and maintain an individual aquarium with animals from Watson’s Vernal Pond, and conduct your own science experiments. 
Mon – Fri, 12:00pm – 3:00pm daily, $100 per student   Max: 15 students
